Project Hawaii

I haven't updated on Project Hawaii because there hasn't been much to update. I've been working out, but the scale doesn't really move. The last few weeks at work were brutal and my workouts fell largely by the wayside. But I'm back on track.

Saturday morning we ran (well, I mostly walked) a 1.8 mile fun run/walk for J-Mav's school. And yesterday, I started my own version of two-a-days. I am doing a half hour on the treadmill at lunch (there's two in a "gym" downstairs in my office building) and then another workout of some sort at home in the evening. Last night it was 30 minutes of step aerobics. Tonight, I'm not sure... maybe rhythm boxing on the Wii.

Tomorrow I am going to try to get into the 7am Zumba class at the rec center before work. Then I'm not sure if I'll do the treadmill at lunch or just do something at home in the evening. We'll see.

My 16s are getting baggy. The 14s fit, some still fit snuggly. I have a month to get into the 12s...

Open Letter...

Dear Princess Beatrice -

Cindy Lou Who called... she wants her "hat" back. Seriously... between the hat, makeup, and the big teeth, she looks like an escapee from Whoville!

Even the Grinch wouldn't have taken that hat!

Well, there's always next year...

I feel like I say that every May. But once again, my beloved Capitals have been ousted from the play-offs shy of the ultimate goal: winning Lord Stanley's Cup. To add insult to injury, they were swept in the second round. Swept! Couldn't even win one game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Sigh. That's gonna be one quiet plane ride home tonight.

I fear for the coach's job. He has a great record in the regular season, and this year succeeded in completely changing the team's "system" mid-way through the year... with great success. It's not too often a team can completely change the way it plays mid-season without involving a coach getting fired. But he just doesn't seem to be able to get it done in the post season.

Then again, Andy Reid has had same problem for years, and he's still in Philly...

Heard...

Hubby was out of town for work for three days this week. Last night he called to talk to the boys before bed. J-Mav had quite the conversation with his dad, telling him all about the trek he was making into the Mali Desert today at school. ("Not for real, Dad... we're pretending") After he was done talking, he hung up the phone and said...

"That was a really good conversation!"
